Hi, I passed equity a couple of sittings ago and in my opinion, it is the easiest of the FE-1s. The exam papers are extremely fair and the same questions are repeated over and over again. There is no need to pay Eur150 for six hours of "trend analysis" and "examiner psychology" in Griffith two or three weeks before the exams (unless maybe you got a group together and shared the materials). A good long look through the exam papersand reports will tell you everything you need to know about Equity and the most important topics to cover will become apparent. I haven't thought about Equity since 2007 but as far as I can remember, some of the most popular issues are: All injunctions, esp. Mareva / Anton Piller, Donatio Mortis Causa, Trusteeship, Charitable Trusts, Specific Performance, Undue Influence, Estoppel etc. Some important small issues are: Strong v Bird, the Doctrine of Satisfaction, Cy- pres, Presumption of Advancement, Rectification and the Maxims. Quistclose Trusts are another important one but you have to go further than just reciting the facts of the Quistclose case. As I said, the same questions tend to be repeated in Equity, so if you study the exam papers and try to think about how to answer those questions, you'll be fine. The Equity examiner is not a hard marker - I think I passed on three questions and two "stabs in the dark"... Good luck and don't panic - Equity is the least of your problems!!!
