Oscar winners, sports? Competition authority?
That's beyond ridiculous. I understand the need for English proficiency. It's harder to make an argument over that. Same viz basic law. But the general knowledge sounds like an unfair barrier to entry, especially if people are failing. I really don't know enough about it - and lots of people ask. How many would have done it when you were doing it? Are the questions essay questions in general knowledge or what; "compare and contrast Diane Keaton's performance in "Somethings Gotta Give" with her role in "Father of the Bride"? I really can't believe an exam regulating entry to the profession asks sports questions...its madness. I'm astounded by how this profession (which I love!) consistently does things which gives a terrible account of us to the world. And by saying "profession", I'm being inclusive...barristers/ solicitors...we all get along.
