Hi Walker I think the documentation might be a little imcomplete.
I think for the 3.x to 3.4.2 upgrade instructions you should be installing the new version of Fedora to a different location, which is not stated in the instructions (it is for the 3.4.1 to 3.4.2 upgrade instructions though). So you should not choose to overwrite your existing installation, you should install the new version to a new location and proceed with the instructions from there.
