Hello I'm looking at how to implement in-search filtering in GSearch. The demo Java class has a dummy method for getting a user's role from their user name. It looks like GSearch has access to some Fedora code (fedora-server.jar) that can do authentication. But this code dates from 2007, I think, and doesn't have the new FeSL/JAAS servlet filters.
Ideally, my Fedora and GSearch applications would use the same authentication mechanism/s. Failing that, if they could use identical mechanisms, it would be better than using different ones. Would it be a lot of work to change fedora-server.jar for fcrepo-serverXXX.jar? Or is there another way to share the same (or identical) authentication mechanism/s between Fedora and GSearch, so that an in-search filter can access user roles (from LDAP, a user file, SSO etc.)? Thanks.
