I do agree perfectly with you, however, SSE3 capability can definitely be
queried by checking the presence of flag pni (Prescott New Instructions) in
/proc/cpuinfo.

AMD cores Sledgehammer (steppings C0, CG) and Clawhammer (stepping CG) do
not support SSE3 only cores from San Diego (stepping E4) on. ~C
