Ok, this obviously means that AMD64 processors based upon the cores
Sledgehammer (steppings C0, CG) and Clawhammer (stepping CG) will report
illegal operations because they do not support SSE3, only cores from San
Diego (stepping E4) on. Thus, it looks like there is actually a need for
distinct packages
atlas.x86_64 < atlas-sse3.x86_64 [ < atlas -sse4.x < .. ]
All not that obvious after all ..
