I bought a car 6 years ago. I've had almost 6 years to move to buy a newer car or switch to another method of transportation. So what?
rh9 is in a persistent vegetative state. It's time to pull the plug.
I sure hope my auto manufacturing companies don't stop selling parts for my 6 year old car just because it is 6 years old... I depend on them to fix it when it breaks. The point is, the RH9 users have had no reason to upgrade, so why should they have? We (FL) have provided them with the means to not upgrade. If we want to stop supporting it, we need to provide advanced warning, and a time period for them to make the transition, and not just cut them off cold. The only way out of this is if we can show lack of community interest in the release, which I know you can not show in this case. So, yes, by all means, we can drop support, but we have to do it in a reasonable manor. Remember, the main reason this community came together is just because RH _DID NOT_ do it in a "resonable" way in the first place.
