In my case youtube and cnn were working fine until the upgrade to
Firefox 3 then anything that is flash shows up with the flash "F" in the
middle and requires me to click it to start it. This includes flash ads
that might be on the screen. CNN video doesn't work at all any longer
while youtube may play one or two videos and then quits.

that sure sounds like 'flashblock' extension.
not that this is of any use to anyone using x86_64 but I find that
youtube and cnn video/audio are working fine for me (i386)
