As shown elsewhere in this thread, there are dependencies on the i386 NetworkManager-glib anyway [and with "rpm" it would be necessary to specify the dependencies manually], so use yum remove NetworkManager-0.7.0-0.6.7.svn3370.fc8.i386 instead which takes care of removing also dependencies.
