Once again: this has nothing to do with yum. Wildcard expansion is done
by the Shell before the command is even executed. This is true of all
Unix/Linux Shells (Bourne, bash, csh, ash, zsh, Korn, ksh, ...)

Try "info bash" to read up on the bash Shell, which is the default in
Fedora.
