Talking of which, is there any way of getting a notification of the switch 
state?  In windows the button lights up.  On the EeePC using the Fx switch 
causes a tiny popup with the status.  I have no indicator on this Mandriva 
laptop, as far as I can see, and I don't recall seeing one when Fedora was on 
it.  When troubleshooting that indicator can save lots of time.
