The stacktrace you got shows that you do have a JVM installed. The error message to investigate is probably this one: 16:25:05,893 ERROR [MainDeployer] Could not create deployment: file:/usr/local/ejboss/jboss-4.2.3.GA/server/default/conf/jboss-service.xml Permission problems perhaps? That's just a shot in the dark; I know nothing about JBoss.
