If it is any help the grub line used by preupgrade (including a
kickstart file) looks like
kernel /upgrade/vmlinuz preupgrade
repo=hd:UUID=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000:/var/cache/yum/preupgrade
stage2=hd:UUID=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000:/upgrade/install.img
ks=hd:UUID=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000:/upgrade/ks.cfg
(UUIDs blanked out becuase I am paranoid)
