Yes, sorry, I was forgetting that.
(I often do add or subtract something in the grub entry, with "a".)

In this case, I decided to run in text-mode
until I had sorted out the graphics problem.
(It actually sorted itself out with "yum update".)

[I'm not absolutely certain I got a grub screen after preupgrade?]
