I've been running F9 at 1440x900 for several months. I didn't have to do anything to get that resolution. Suse 11.0, on the other hand, supports 1440x1050 which my monitor doesn't support, so I run Suse at 1280x1024. OpenBSD doesn't support 1440x900 either.
