"blkid"
Returns the following:
/dev/sda2: uuid="6xST10-Cskd-.........." TYPE="lvm2pv"
/dev/sdb1: uuid="-.........." TYPE="lvm2pv"
/dev/sdc1: uuid=".........." TYPE="lvm2pv"
/dev/sdd1: uuid=".........." TYPE="lvm2pv"
/dev/dm-0: uuid=".........." TYPE="ext3"
/dev/dm-1: uuid=".........." TYPE="swap"
I think you are right about the multiple installations.
I did try to reinstall 2 or 3 times hoping to overwrite and fix the
problem.......
What should I do now?

The "mount" command returns the following:
A bunch of (rw) and one (ro)
the last one says:
"/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol100 on /mnt/sysimage type ext3

type blkid
and it will tell us the LVM volumes and devices - sounds like you may
have more than 1 installation
