(i've been busy with a bout of
unscheduled maintenance & restoring
my new system... now having network issues...)
1. without an xorg.conf i am unable to use system settings-> display
to change the resolution- (it just crashes)
2. Xorg -configure doesn't produce a working xorg.conf for me-
perhaps system-display-config will-
3. kick myself fer not checking the log...
4. good advice all around to use when i boot up f11 again
