The total restructuring of X in that sequence is a deal breaker. If you use kde the change from kde3 to kde4 with F9 would get you. Even if you don't use the graphical interfaces there are problems. I've had to keep a FC6 installation around to keep some legacy programs running with change in the dynamic library files. Plenty of other gotchas.
