What is the output of
$ su -
passwd:
# ls -l /etc/ppp/ip-up
In my case it is the following:
[oliva...@localhost ~]$ ls -l /etc/ppp/ip-up
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 430 2008-11-11 10:51 /etc/ppp/ip-up
This might help find out what is happening.
