Hi ,
I encountered same problem and look the way I gat at a possible cause.
I think that Ups fedora KDE fellows "did" it again , I may be wrong . Please
correct me if necessary.
if you cannot login with liveuser to see why ( optional you will need second
machine with ssh/ftp enabled to get the logs)
>From login greeter select "Failsafe" session and login with empty password .
You will get a Xterm window where you can start looking at logs .
First log to look at : /var/log/kdm.log ( may need to become root first using
su )
I find here (looks more like a SCRIPT ERROR that trigers more errors in
greeter, looks like greeter cannot cope with errors):
----- unterminated if ----
/etc/X11/xdm/Xresources:30:1: error: unterminated #if
kdmgreet(2934) KdmLabel::lookupStock: Invalid <stock> element ' "pam-error" '.
Check your theme!
---------------
can anyone confirm similar log pattern ? I intend to post a BUG into BUGZILLA
?
Thanks.

The KDE Live CD is configured to autologin. If you get a login screen, this
means the KDE session failed to come up and so it drops you back to KDM.
Most likely this is a video driver bug which crashes X11.
