This is a feature specific to the MinGW target, so I think what MinGW does
there is the most relevant, also due to binary compatibility concerns. We
are currently not binary-compatible with the upstream MinGW toolchain, which
is what projects like kdewin use (not upstream FSF GCC).
__attribute__((seh_aware)) is a hack, but it's the best solution to the
"throwing exceptions through DLLs" problem so far.
