Byte compiling in %post is an interesting idea, but I think it doesn't really
survive a cost-benefit analysis. Getting the infrastructure right for that would
be a big job. Plus, if I understand correctly, we may miss build fails and start
shipping broken packages, since I suspect the build system won't detect byte
compilation fails, since it builds, but doesn't install the package. One could
imagine installing a new emacsen package, which would trigger byte compiling of
a number of installed packages which, since the elisp api isn't stable, could
break. Messy. Or do I have the wrong end of the stick?
