I would alter the %file section as per following: %files %defattr(-,root,root,-) %{_libdir}/*.so.* %doc README.txt LICENSE.txt It effectively duplicates the README.txt and LICENSE.txt files, but I think it is normal to repeat both of those on the two generated packages.
