Funny, this coming from someone at sky.com just seems poetically appropriate.
My official speed is 1,434 words per minute on paper; 1,076 words per minute on a screen; with
comprehension. The average mass market has around 250 words per page, so I'm just shy of 6 pages
per minute on paper. I breathe just fine thank you. It's a great skill for reading those dry dusty
technical manuals, professional documents (I'm an auditor so we've got lots), and during college I
used it as a cramming method for testing. It's remarkably useful, and my college GPA will attest to
the fact that I don't skip words or chapters when reading like this.
Can I explain how I do this? No. Can I teach others? No. Am I unique? No. I know lots of other
people who read at these kinds of speeds, and I'm not talking about "speed readers" who really do
skip words. The fact you want to be snarky about me reading at those speeds just tells me that
you're uncomfortable with the idea that people really can do this kind of thing.
If everyone read like me the only thing that would change would be that Ray would be a hell of a lot
richer, and the publishing industry would be bigger than television. (I watch very little
television.)

so you can read 300 pages an hour thats 5 pages a minute and one page in 12
seconds ??????????????
Do you breath at all durring this ???????
More like in reading a book in 3 hrs ( upto 900 pages) you read the first
chapter and last chapter and fill in the rest yourself, great as every book
can be read multiple times with a different story leading to the same
ending.
Think if everyone read like that all an author would have to do would start
"Once upon a time" then "The end" so much more enviromentaly friendly as no
book would need to be more than 2 pages.

*snerk* Of course not, I read it in Klingon but that's only because I
couldn't find a copy in Esperanto.
All silliness aside, I read 300 pages an hour when I want to, and my
average speed is 120 pages per. I've no problem finishing the average novel
in about 3 hours. Last weekend I read through both of Canavan's latest
books as well as the last of the Myth series.
