As far as I know, Magician: Master was selected by Marvel to be one of their 100% original digital comics. The logic was the comic itself and the hardcovers didn't do that well, but the e-book and soft trade paper did well. It's complicated. Marvel inherited me from DB Pro, well meaning but very disorganized guys who managed to create problems in the retail channel that Marvel inherited. They were far more able to turn the Anita Baker stuff around, but they finally got some traction with my stuff. Moreover, the e-book v. paper thing was just starting to happen when all this went down.
