I run a solid state (128 GB) as my primary hard drive (1 TB SATA as secondary) 
and I have to say it makes all the difference. You have to remember the hard 
drive is the last bottleneck in a computer.
Solid state is totally worth it. However as for storing documents/etc I would 
say it's probably a bit overkill:)
