For me I always thought Roland's death to be quite tragic (in my mind
Roland was always Han Solo to Pug's Skywalker)... I particularly liked the
way Ray gave hints/clues about Roland's impending doom ....the way in which
he died as well might seem not as grand as the way in which Jimmy/Gamina
died but was no less heroic if you take the time to think about it... of
course the real crunch comes later on when Pug sees Roland in the
queue...how would you react in that same situation with a loved one of your
own?

Roland's age at the time of his death is pretty poignant too. A life cut
short. Just think of how many adventures Roland could have had had he
lived? As much as all the other character deaths were sad, they at least
had had long full lives. Roland was well drawn and stays with you as a
character who had endless possibilities. That to me makes his loss more
keenly felt than any of the others.
