Peopkle get this one wrong al the time.

MS did not buy Apple.  They bought non-controlling shares, infusing
money into Apple, a deal made between Jobs and Gates.

After a few years (not sure how many) I believe MS sold those shares
back to Apple.

Basically, it was just a cash influx for Apple at a time when it needed it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
