Look, once you join the guild, your xp adds to the guild's xp, meaning that we advance faster in guild level, even though you're a noobie. So, even at level 1, you help the guild. As Ray said, raids etc are higher level. But you play because it's fun, and when you're on, people are chatting about stuff, and it's fun. So....join up. Dan.
