OK, not to spoil anything yet to come, but that's what I wanted you to think about the Dread. "Things are not what they seem to be."
And the campaign has nothing to do with the books; remember, I put the story "500 years ago" to the game era. (Actually, it's probably morphed more into 300, but who's counting?)
At least it's not just me who fiddles with timelines then :-)
