The first 6 were good. The next 4 were pretty boggy due to multiple main pov’s
and such a complex set of timelines. Book 10 brought the timelines together.
Book 11 was Jordan’s last but we could see where it was all going... sort of.
Sanderson took over for what was supposed to be the last book, but it would
have been over 6” thick, so they split it into 3. Been building up a head of
steam since then.

Wait... didn’t Robert Jordan die a couple of years ago? Did they have someone
else write the last book instead? I read the first four or five and then lost
interest, but they we always on my list of “must get back to” books.

Lani,

The series is called The Wheel of Time, by a guy called Robert Jordan. The
first book is called The Eye of the World. If you check it out let me know what
you think =]

I know what you mean about characters that you come to love. Pug, Tomas, Nakor,
Erik, Roo and countless others feel like friends to any number of people on
this list, I'm sure. I'm also sure Ray will enjoy being able to introduce us
all to an entirely new set of characters when he puts his mind to something
else in the coming years too.

Best Regards,
Paul Maynard

Thanks for that Paul,
All i need is another series to keep me on tender hooks *laugh*.
I was used to reading Anne Rice and of all things Stephen King till my brother
got me hooked on Ray which i have to say is far superior reading. But the
series and getting hooked on a line of characters who you never want to end is
almost too much LOL.
I will check out Memory of light though, who is the Author?
Kind regards
Lani

Lani,

Waiting on A Memory of Light which comes out in January is killing me enough
right now. Eagerness to read it combined with complete fear of it being the end
of the 14 book 'Wheel Of Time' series which I've loved for years! Check it out
if you haven't already.

Paul Maynard

Hello Paul,
Well im envious of you actually, at least you havent read everything. The
WAITING is just driving me a little NUTS.
Enjoy, you really dont know what your missing right now :).
I must always research first before reading from another Author because im kind
of impatient and really afraid of the END book :(.
Happy reading, get your tissues handy too.
Lani

Morning All!

I have a confession to make...my reading and keeping up to date with the
Riftwar has slipped badly, and some of you of list stardom may never forgive
me. Ever since getting my First Edition of RaDL signed by Ray while he was on a
UK tour (which, of course, I then refused to open - spine protection!), I've
not read anything Riftwar related. I know, I know.

My thinking was to wait for the paperback of RaDL to come out as I read a lot
on lunch breaks, at relatives houses, etc, and it's much more tranport
friendly. That purchase never happened, nor any subsequent books so my mind has
yet to be graced with the words of the Demonwar or Chaoswar Sagas.

However! Seeing Magician's End written on a front cover, regardless of it not
being a final draft, has just changed my mindset and I believe I'll be
Feist-focussed again in the not too distant future, getting myself fully
up-to-date with the world(s) of Pug & co in time for the May release of a book
I dread only second to A Memory of Light for ending series' that I've grown up
with.

If the book is half as good as that cover it promises something epic.

Best Regards,
Paul Maynard
