If you want something to read books, buy a reader with e-ink display. The reading comfort is far superior even if those devices aren't as general purpose as a tablet with an lcd display (which can read ebooks as well as do other things, so it is a good choice for small readers -- but someone engaging in reading about 30 books in 4 or 5 months isn't in that category).
