I have and like a kindle. You can send any number of different documents to it. And if you have books in a different format, be it microsoft reader, pdf, or whatever you can get a program called calibre that can change the format to mobi which is used by kindle. Also the kindle battery lasts for ages. E ink really easy to read, even in direct sunlight. I went for the older kindle. Did some research on kindle fire. Battery life not as goid, cause of all the other functions. So if its simply for reading i would recommend the kindle.
