Wheel of Time! It was originally started by Robert Jordan and then completed by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan died. It was a good end to a good series and one I started before Ray's. Actually if it wasn't for WoT I probably would never have discovered Ray's books as it was me talking to a friend about them that made him lend me Magician.
