Not me. I love surprise endings. Having Pug get killed off or whatnot would be 
shockingly entertaining if not sad. It's why I can't read people like Eddings, 
Jordan and even Martin. No surprises ... just cliche crap or a billion 
characters with no insight into any and/or a billion characters all with the 
same manorisms. I swear I could read Eddings and not tell one character from 
another if not told.

I bet working out the plot was fun... at the end the world is DESTROYED and 
they all DIE! No subtle thoughts to leave links to the next in the series for 
the publisher.

Maybe I gave away how I would like to see it end although I do believe (from 
things I have read about tv) particularly American audiences do not like sad 
endings.
