Damn, I thought we caught all of that.  There was a different order of events 
in a different cut,l but it should have read "to Roldem, then had availed 
himself . . . etc."  We cut the Roldem bit out.  Oh, well.

That's because I didn't explain it.  Explain why?   You want the sociological 
pressure model?  Seriously, it was a large population originally who jumped out 
ahead of their kin, and while the other elves on Midkemia were killing off each 
other for a long time, the star elves were just getting drunk and having 
parties.
