Weird. I saw your 'newbie' comment and what went through my mind was [warning: teh feels]
I joined the list in 1997, while living in France. Since then, I've lived in France (again), England (twice), Scotland, Austria, Germany, Kenya and the US (now twice, going on three times). Four inter-continental moves, and I've had 18 street addresses in that time (including "Obdachlos", but not including the upcoming move from Connecticut to the Bay Area). The peripatetic thing (53 addresses in 51 years) is a good point of reference for all the rest of the changes labeled under different social criteria (work, family, academia, etc), just since joining this list.
