Thanks, Michelle.

After Gary's diagnosis I read a *little* about
Immunoregulin but haven't thought about it since. I
will ask the vet if she's used it.

The thing about our vet is even though she is
supposedly the best in the valley, apparently her
clinic sees very few FeLV+ cats (one per year or
less). They are very willing to treat FeLV but because
they don't see them often, the vets haven't kept up on
all the info. However, last Friday our vet was on the
phone with my boyfriend for 45 minutes (!) discussing
Gary's treatment. He asked her about the
dexamethasone at that time and she, while on the
phone, looked up some research and also
inter-veterinarian info (she's part of some
inter-clinic information group - maybe all clinics
have it, I don't know) and so even though she hadn't
heard about dex treatment for anemia previously, she
was able to look it up and agreed to try it based on
some limited success statistics. (She said it seems
to be most clinically effective if used to treat
hemobart-caused anemia or other anemia cases in which
the bone marrow is still producing a lot of blood
cells to make up for the ones being attacked. In
Gary's case the test showed her bone marrow was not
overproducing young blood cells.)

So she's been very open to treatments but doesn't
necessarily suggest everything right away, which is
why I'm glad I have this list to help me know what to
ask for!

We'll also find out if we can come in for another dex
injection at the end of the week. I think she
suggested once/week and as long as Gary is walking and
eating normally, this sounds reasonable.

if you think the dex might have helped her, she can
get that fairly
frequently if she needs it (if she starts to crash
again). I have even
given it two
days in a row on occasion when it is near the end (as
with Simon both
times I
thought it was near the end).
