Hello and welcome to the group. Sorry you lost your Scully so unexpectedly.
I have two siblings and only one was positive. Jelly Roll passed away last Nov at 2 1/2 yrs old. His sister is negative-just tested her again-and doing fine. they played together, groomed each other all their lives. I also have other cats-one was positive 4 years ago and recently on retesting came up negative. whether it was all the supplements and vitamins I give my cats to boost their immune system or whatever, I dont know. (of course this morning, mr. bean decided to pee on the floor right next to the dog who was waiting to go for a walk so there always seems to be some problems). I inherited another cat who is undetermined age-probably 8-9 and he is positve. My other cats are negative.
I have lost 3 cats to feline leukemia(who had it since birth-2 lived about one year) and an elderly dog to cancer in past 2 years. One thing I have learned from this group is to consult a specialist when possible. Dont' be afraid to ask your vet for referrals. did your vet suggest testing Rookie again in 4-6 months?
regards
Barbara
