I've noticed that too. The ones that are left seem to try to pick up on special duties, games etc., as if they're trying to fill the void. You might remember my wondering who would be nice to Kimba Cat, now that Jazz is gone. Well, Grace has begun to touch noses with him and they've even engaged in play. Grace has also begun to trill to me. Jazz was the only one that used the vocalization on a regular basis. I've seen it with my dogs too. I've had alot of people that tell me that their old dog "taught" behaviors to the pup before he passed and the new ones take over certain tasks that they never did before.

It's so bittersweet thinking of the things we used to do together. When I was typing about my guys helping make the bed, I was so sad thinking how it's not quite the same with two instead of three, (the older cats rarely join in). On the first shopping trip after Jazz died, I found myself telling the butcher I have two FeLV babies. I just couldn't help myself, it was so hard to reduce the number out loud.
