I don't what your budget is, but since you haven't bought carriers yet, maybe you could use Karolyn's squeeze cages instead, (to do what we already talked about with getting them used to going in the carriers). There's also something called a trap separator. It fits in through the wire mesh of the trap to compartmentalize it in order to squeeze the kitty to one side. I really think once you start working with them on a regular basis, they are going to surprise you and tame up pretty quickly. I don't know why I get this feeling, but I think you are closer than you realize to getting them to trust you. Keep the negative thoughts out of your head, expect them to friendly up and not be scared. It's important to trust them too. Leave your anxiety at the door and start spending time with them on a regular basis. It doesn't have to be a big chunk of your time, but it does help if it's the same times each day.

Hi, For the IV's, shots and examination you may want to try a "Squeeze
Cage". If you can get the cat into a "Trap" then you can transfer it to
the "Squeeze Cage". If you put newspaper under the bottom of the trap
you can keep a cat in a "BIG" trap for a few days.I don't know if you
know what a " Squeeze Cage" is. A "Squeeze Cage" has a panel(inside of
the cage) along one side of the cages sides. You can slide this panel
toward the other side of the cage until the animal is firmly held
between the panel and the other side of the cage. You may be able to
borrow a "Squeeze Cage" from a rescue group or your local animal
shelter.

I would like to recommend that everyone call Tomahawk Live Traps &
Equipment at 1-800-272-8727 and ask them to mail you a catalog.
