I had some side effects too when I used this on my cat. But the long run it helped for awhile.
The problem is that not much is know about this and depending on the vet you use they may be just going by the protocol. I found a vet that has used this regulary and when I spoke to him he told me to cut back on the dose and then go back up. You need to find what works best with your cats system. My cat seemed to be ill and very unsure footed and seemed not to be feeling well. The next morning new cat lively and seemed fine. Happened again next time. So I found a specialist in Immuno- regulin and he gave me some advise where my vet who is very good didn't have much experince with Immun so he was happy I found some one who knew more about it then just reading from the vet merrick books.
