I've never seen any roaches here in Vermont, 20 miles from the
Canadian border either... but boy oh boy do I remember them from when I lived
down south! Other things we don't have here that I don't miss: poisonous snakes
(nope not a single one up here) and chiggers (blasted skin-boring devils don't
live here).
My not so very practical advise: Move VERY far north. Try
zone 4A or above. Consolation: It was only under -30 for about a month last
winter.

I collect KMR kitten formula labels for Bazil, a 3 yr old special needs cat who must live on a liquid diet for the rest of his life.
