tamara, you are right--i have met some incredibly wonderful nuns through the years, and the ones joining up now tend to be awesome--however, as you implied, convents have long suffered from definite powerlessness in their particular world, and as too often happens EVERYWHERE, those who are powerless tend to use what little authority they have on those with even less......
