Hi. I remembered today that you should look into Cushings Syndrome. I do
not know if cats get it, but dogs, horses, and humans do. It comes from too much
cortisone (which depo is a form of). Sometimes people develop it from
their bodies producing too much, and sometimes from having a reaction to getting
it supplemented long-term with steroid shots and pills. Common symptoms include
weakness in the hind end and weight loss. In horses they tend to grown
strange long hair, but I think in humans it can result in hair thinning and in
cats it might also. I believe the only cure is stopping the cortisone (and no
real cure if it comes on without steroids being supplemented).
