Hi
I am posting this for a friend who rescues in Florida - she sent me this
message
"I have a cat, Kitty Boy, who is VERY
skinny!! He hasn't been playful either, and I know there is definitely
something very wrong!! He's always hungry! His belly is big in
comparison to the rest of him! I mean, when I pick him up, I can feel his
bones!! Yesterday and today more than ever, he's been following me around
and crying for food. I've tried not to feed him as much as I had
been. It's like he's starving! Sure would like to know if you've
ever seen this before."
I suggested she needs urgent bloods for Kidney,
liver, Thyroid, FIV & FeLV and test for wet form FIP- I personally am
suspicious of thyroid but said that it can be lots of other stuff or maybe even
cancer.
Don't know how old this kittie is but have asked her
to let me know.
I also told her not to cut down his food and to give
him more to avoid fatty liver - and if he is lethargic and burning calories
faster than he can take in then he needs more energy going in.
Has anyone got any thoughts or further comments on
this one?
