As I said, it could be heart related. Joey was diagnosed with very
mild cariomyapathy at 5 months of age, and was on a diuertic and other
heart med for a year, he was fine until this last year when he again
developed a murmur and is on heart meds again.
His symptoms were panting and getting very tired, I thought it was
because he was playing so hard, he was a very active kitten, but I had
him checked because it just didn't seem normal for a kitten to get that
worn out from playing and I had never seen a cat pant so it worried me.
His heart was slightly enlarged and shaped a bit funny. She suspected
fluid though not much, we caught it very early and the year on meds was
enough to stop and correct it for 10 years. Once his murmur started up
I took him in again for a echo and he has mild HCM again and the meds
have already taken the murmur from a 3 or 4 down to a 2. He is
scheduled to get another echo this month (6 month check up), I'm hoping
his heart is healing, the new medication he is on has been shown to
actually heal the heart muscle.
