Back in the 1950's when I was a teenager and we were always in trouble
for racing our 1940's cars around town I got to go on a trip to Amish
country...
One of the 1st things I noticed were the teenage Amish kids racing their
one horse shays around town...Only difference was instead of taking the
mufflers and air cleaners off to gain that extra MPH they were whipping
their old skinny/boney horses mercifully...
Needless to say I came away from that trip with a different education
of these supposedly wonderful God fearing people...
And most of the rest of the guys also felt the same way....
Animal rights have come a long way in the last 50 years but it doesn't
sound like they have hit these old fashion people.....Where is PETA
when you need them....

I couldn't agree with you more! I never
knew how bad it really was til I bought a movie called Peaceable
Kingdom. It's all about farm animals, and the way they are treated.
They showed a scene of a sale much like New Holland, and showed them
dragging a live but downed cow by her hind leg out to the dead pile,
where still living (but horribly suffering) animals were writhing in
misery under dead ones, and such. Really horrible. I've never been to
New Holland myself, but have seen much film and pictures of it, and
it's bad. I have gone to many horse auctions, many where killer buyers
are present, and I have seen some bad things, but nothing like on that
scale.

I collect KMR kitten formula labels for Bazil, a 3 yr old special needs
