So far, I've turned over and rejected 6 items I was thinking of buying -- all said Made in China on the bottom. (No more buying from China for me since that BBC/Paul McCartney article that I believe Bonnie or Belinda sent?)
Re Walmart--they are capable of anything; they certainly wouldn't worry about a little thing like animal torture UNLESS maybe the entire pet-guardian population stopped buying from them. I urge everyone to read Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich who worked undercover for a few weeks at Walmart and/or see the documentary movie--"Walmart--the high cost of low price". --It's being shown free of charge in many places in Chicago, and hope that's happening elsewhere too.
I haven't stepped inside a Walmart for a decade and will never do so until they start paying people a decent wage and stop relying on the taxpayer to subsidize their employees. The Walmart family--I believe there are 5 members--are the richest in America. Yet every new worker is routinely handed a package that informs them about the subsidies they're entitled to eg food stamps because of the low wages they earn. Chicago has blocked a Walmart application to build on the Southside.
Don't buy from Walmart. There is a reason their stuff is so cheap!

Subject: Re: "Fake Fur" from garments made in China

I just left Walmart and they have all these fur pillows there that are made in China. They look and feel like real cat fur. Is this possible could Walmart be caring articles made from cat and dog fur? I saw the Larry King show about this terrible problem and I haven't been able to sleep since. What can we do to help these poor babies?
