Neil,

I have not had this happen, but feel this is a good
thing. So many vets just chalk up illnesses to FeLV
if a cat tests positive (and many times, the tests can
be wrong), and then give up on treating the actual
illness because they have such a negative view of
FeLV. Now you guys can focus on the anemia without
worrying about the FeLV. My Cricket got really sick
one day (his temp. way sky high) and when I took him
into the vet, he tested positive for FeLV and the vet
pretty much wrote him off and stopped trying to do
something for him. Thank God I listened to my gut
feeling that they weren't caring for him correctly and
took off work to pick him up and care for him myself.
So for the next 3-4 days, I gave him antibiotics (I
think amox), fluids every hour, and also had to force
feed him. He bounced back and was great for two years
after that, so I strongly believe that his illness was
from an infection he got from an injury to his feet,
and had nothing to do with the FeLV. Had I left it up
to the doc, I wouldn't have had that two years with
him.

I hope that her marrow results come back negative also
for cancer, and that you guys can beat this thing.
Please keep us posted. Praying for Anastasia...

:)
Wendy
